Greetings from Lake Mary Prep! As graduates of our school, we want
to keep in touch with you. How fast the time flies from the
original graduating class of 9 seniors to this year’s 2008
graduating class of 49.
So many things have happened since your graduation from Lake Mary
Prep. Our physical facilities have expanded with the use of
portables for our football team and band/music classes. There are
dugouts in the baseball field and there is a fully functional
concession stand with restrooms. In fact, both our male and female
athletes have acquired several District and Regional
Championships.
2007/2008 enhancements to our facilities include resurfacing the
outdoor basketball court and track, new landscaping, and
repurposing the mezzanine into a “starbucks” style
café’ and a school store. There will also be a
groundbreaking ceremony for a new administration building on
Saturday, January 12, 2008.
Academically, the amount of AP classes has broadened and the middle
school has Pre-AP courses in addition to Honors courses. New
offerings are Chinese, a state of the art iMac lab and daily news
broadcast on the GNN News Network.
The newest exciting event that has taken place is that Lake Mary
Prep has partnered with The Meritas Group, an international family
of exceptional college preparatory schools. Meritas has schools in
the US, Europe and Mexico. They plan to expand our facilities and
program offerings. Lake Mary Prep is a growing place.
We are starting an Alumni Association and would love to hear from
all of you. Tell us about your college majors and degrees. Let us
know if you have participated in studies abroad, sports, graduate
work or other exciting endeavors. Please fill out and return the
