Fifth Grade Supplies for 2008-2009

 

 

Supplies:

 

·         40 sharpened #2 pencils

·         2 highlighters (in the color of student’s choice)

·         1 12 count Crayola Colored Pencils

·         1 large zippered supply pouch for 3-ring binder

·         1 book bag small enough to fit in locker

·         1 pair of scissors

·         1 USB Flash Drive to be used to store computer documents.   This should cost around $30.00. If your child still has their 4^th grade flash drive they may use it for 5^th grade also, if not please purchase a new one.

·         1 container of Lysol Wipes

·         1 boxes of tissues

·         1 planner (Purchase from LMP School store)

·         3 packs of loose leaf paper

 

Language Arts:

 

·         1 in. 3-ring Binder with Pockets (any solid color)

·         5 dividers

·         Wide-ruled loose leaf paper in binder

·         2 jumbo sized book covers (any solid color)

·         1 Webster’s Pocket Dictionary

·         1 Thesaurus

·         The following novels, which we will read over the course of the year:

- Nothing’s Fair in Fifth Grade by Barthe DeClements

- Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

- Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth Speare

- Something Upstairs by Avi

 

 

 

Science:

 

·         1 in. 3-ring Binder with Pockets (any solid color)

·         5 Dividers

·         Wide-ruled loose leaf paper in binder

·         1 jumbo sized book cover (any solid color)

·         1 composition book

·         $ 5 for Science World Classroom Magazine-cash or check to LMP in labeled envelope

 

 

Math:

 

·         1 in. 3-ring Binder with Pockets (any solid color)

·         1 ruler (standard and metric measurement) –for use at home

·         1 protractor-for use at home

·         1 jumbo sized book cover (any solid color)

·         Wide-ruled loose leaf paper in binder

 

 

Social Studies:

 

·         1 in. 3-ring Binder with Pockets (any solid color)

·         5 Dividers

·         Wide-ruled loose leaf paper in binder

·         1 jumbo sized book cover (any solid color)

·         1 package of 3 in. by 5 in. lined index cards

 

 

Supplies should be maintained throughout the year.   It is the student’s responsibility to have the proper supplies in class at all times.   You may wish to purchase extra supplies to have on hand at home for homework and for replenishing supplies during the school year.
