Middle School Student Council
Lake Mary Preparatory
School
Every year the LMP Middle School Student body elects three
representatives per level to serve on the Middle School’s
Student Council. These representatives have campaigned and given
speeches expressingtheir goals and visions for LMP. Middle school
representatives coordinate events including dances, games nights,
various community service projects, and school spirit events.
Members work to plan the events, help serve our student body during
the events, and stay late to help clean up. These students are
truly dedicated to our school.
The Middle School student council members must attend weekly
meetings and are considered leaders who are responsible for making
sure middle school students at LMP know “what’s going
on” in our school each week and what they can look forward to
soon.
All Lake Mary Prep Student Council members have the opportunity to
collaborate with other Mertias Schools at the annual “
Meritas Student Government Summit”. This year LMP Student
Council members will travel to Geneva, Switzerland to participate
in this event. Students will brainstorm ideas for future community
service projects and share ideas for projects each school has
accomplished. Students will attend leadership workshops,
participate in team building activities, and visit the United
Nations to meet with several ambassadors. This is an exciting
opportunity for both our Middle School and Upper School Student
Council members.
Members of the Middle School Student Council must meet high
standards of character and scholastic achievement. The students
must have a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average and must have a
history of behavioral excellence.
