LMP Students Celebrate Chinese New Year

Students at Lake Mary Preparatory School represent over 25 countries and nationalities. With a number of students coming from China, these students have brought their traditions and celebrations to the school, for all the celebrate.
Students taking Chinese Language class were all participants in the decoration and celebration that took place on January 25th, 2017. This is all part of the cultural awareness and unity that LMP represents, and brings a closer relationship between students of different nationalities.
LMP's 8th grade class sang traditional chinese songs for the students of the Lower School. During their presentation, they also handed out red envelopes, which is a traditional Chinese gift during this time of year.
The Chinese New Year starts after the first full moon of the year. This is the year of the rooster.
