At Lake Mary Preparatory School, we are committed to the safety and well-being of all students, faculty, and staff. In order for us to reopen face-to-face learning in August, our LMP Leadership team, in partnership with our LMP COVID-19 Task Force, and with the guidelines set by the CDC and State, has worked to create specific guidelines and expectations for a safe reentry to face-to-face learning.
We have worked with several community members and school leaders from around the world to create a comprehensive plan that takes many factors into account, but what we are not able to do is predict the future of this pandemic. Our goal with the reopening plan is to provide all stakeholders with the most current and up-to-date guidelines and protocols available to us at the time of creating our plan. We will continue to work throughout the summer to update any changes or recommendations that are required by the CDC or the state of Florida.
At this point, Lake Mary Prep plans to begin the year on a staggered reentry schedule for our Lower and Secondary programs. Lower School will begin on Monday, August 10th, and Secondary School will begin on Wednesday, August 12th. We feel this staggered reentry will provide us with valuable time to assess what works and what needs to be adjusted before welcoming our Secondary students back to campus.
