AP Scholars Recognized

May 09, 2018

Forty (40) students at Lake Mary Preparatory School have been named 2017 AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition for their exceptional achievement on the Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations. The exams are graded on a 5 point scale with scores of 3, 4, or 5 considered passing. Nationally, only about 18% of the more than 1.4 million students in more than 16,000 secondary school who took AP Exams in May 2017 performed at a sufficiently high level to merit such recognition.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on the number of year-long courses and exams (or their equivalent semester-long courses and exams) taken. At LMP we proudly recognize the oustanding achievement of our AP Scholars:

Fifteen (15) students qualified as AP Scholars by earning grades of 3 or higher on 3 or more AP exams.

Six (6) students qualified as AP Scholars with Honor by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and a grade of 3 or higher on 4 or more AP exams.

Fifteen (15) students qualified as AP Scholars with Distinction by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and a grade of 3 or higher on 5 or more AP exams.

Four (4) studentss qualified as a National AP Scholar by earning an average grade of 4 or higher on all AP exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on 8 or more AP exams.
