Fundraising for Puerto Rico
October 04, 2017
Lake Mary Preparatory School has been involved in many fundraising efforts for the multiple natural disasters that have recently occurred. This includes fundraising for Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas, Hurricane Irma locally, Hurricane Maria in the Caribbean and Puerto Rico, as well as the Earthquake in Mexico.
Carmen Mannino, our School Store Manager, hosted a Uniform Garage Sale in September. 50% of the funds raised from this event will be donated to Hurricane Relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
From Mrs. Mannino:
" I would like to thank Mrs.Varitek for letting us use the space in the Lower School, our Maintenance Department for helping us set up tables and Adriana Cabeza for coordinating all the volunteers. Thank you to Kathy Pumphrey for her announcements and special thanks to Krista White, Kristi Harrelson, Sally Ilkham, Deborah Fenley, Maria Garcia, Najia Hessami, Kathy Eppstein, Patricia Daoust, Aditi Carman, Craig Carman, Janel Browning, Estrallita Bloss and of course everyone at LMP who either donated items or took advantage of the great prices. We were able to collect $1,966 of which $983 will be donated to victims of the Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Thank you so much for your generosity."
LMP continues to make efforts to support and assist areas that have been devastated by these natural disasters.
