Our theater program includes students from Lower School through Upper School, built on a curriculum comprised of performance technique, stagecraft, elements of design and multi-genre theatre studies. The department performs at least two major on-campus productions each year and participates regularly in thespian competitions at the district and state levels.
Introduction to our theater program is a course offered to student that provides the four main foundational concepts of drama: script analysis, performance, directing, and design.
Lake Mary Preparatory School also offers acting classes to students who have a desire to expand their knowledge of the performing arts for stage and film. Members of this class have the opportunity to attend Florida Thespian competitions and collaborate with local film studios to received feedback from seasoned directors and performers to help shape performance resumes and portfolios.
