Lower School News & Announcements

Morning Drop-off: Lower School Portico

Drop-off should be quick! All PK–5th grade students should be dropped off from 7:40 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. in the carline, under the Lower School portico, and should exit out of the passenger side of the vehicle.

Parents should remain in their vehicles when dropping off or picking up at all times. If you need to drop off your child later than 8:00 a.m., parents/guardians must park in the designated 15-minute parking spots and sign the child in at the Lower School front desk.

Parking Procedures

NOTE: The LS Portico (carline area) is a fire lane and is prohibited from parking per ordinance F531. Do not leave your vehicle unattended under, or next to, the portico. Please park in a parking spot. 

Families may park in the parking lot or by the athletic fields during arrival, dismissal, and extended care hours. If your drop-off slows traffic in the drive-through, please park. Please do not park in the parking spots in front of the Lower School from 7:30 am-3:30 pm, as it interrupts the flow of traffic. Parents may park in any available spot outside of school hours (7:30 am-3:30 pm). 

Lunch

• Finger scanning is used to purchase items at lunch and the school store. Please email Ms. Kendra if you do not want your child to purchase items. Students who forget their lunch, water bottle, etc., will purchase necessary items during lunch. Items purchased will be charged to your child’s school account. 
• Birthday treats may be sent for your child to enjoy with their class in the lunchroom. Treats must be store-bought, prepackaged, and sealed, with ingredients listed. Please email your child’s teacher and Ms. Kendra to schedule the best day to send in a treat to help avoid multiple treats on the same day. 

If packing a lunch from home:

• Please cook student lunches at home (including macaroni & cheese cups, ramen noodles, etc.), so they only need to be reheated during lunch.   
• Send all items to be reheated in a microwaveable container. 
• Remember to include forks, spoons, and napkins in your child’s lunchbox.
• Food Delivery Services (Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.) are not permitted.

Afternoon Pick-up

Car Line signs must be displayed on the vehicle's passenger-side visor. Pick-up should be quick! Students will enter and exit the car on the passenger side. 

• PreK and Kindergarten: Students will dismiss from 2:40 p.m. – 2:55 p.m. (Wednesday 1:40 p.m. – 1:55 p.m.) from the Lower School portico. 
• 1st & 2nd: Students will dismiss from 2:55 p.m. – 3:10 p.m. (Wednesday 1:55 p.m. – 2:10 p.m.) from the Lower School portico. 
• 3rd, 4th & 5th: Students (and siblings in grades K-2) will be dismissed from 2:55 p.m. – 3:10 p.m. (Wednesday 1:55 p.m. – 2:10 p.m.) from the Upper School portico.

Community School

• Registration deadline for Intramural Sports is August 10.
• Registration deadline for Community School is August 31.
