Athletics program 

Grades 6 – 12

Join an elite athletics program where students develop their skills, compete with purpose, and grow as part of a strong school community. Many Lake Mary student-athletes continue their sports journey at the college level, building on their achievements with the support of specialized college guidance. Lower School Intramurals

Grades 2 – 5

Discover our dynamic program designed to build skills, confidence, and a love of sport in a safe and supportive environment.

Guided by coaches and Upper School student-athletes, participants learn the fundamentals, rules, teamwork, and sportsmanship of a variety of sports while gaining the opportunity to play against surrounding schools and grow toward future participation in The Games, Junior High, Junior Varsity, and Varsity athletics.

The lineup includes: Volleyball, Soccer, Flag Football, and Basketball.

Little Linksters Junior Golf

PreK – Grade 1

Discover a truly distinctive early-years golf experience through the Little Linksters GROW program, a pioneering initiative launched in Lake Mary to introduce children under 8 to the game long before most programs begin. Develop motor skills, focus, integrity, and perseverance while enjoying a rare opportunity that nurtures both character and confidence through golf.

Bricks for Kidz

Kindergarten – Grade 5

Construct machines, animals, and buildings with LEGO® Bricks using Bricks 4 Kidz® models that bring STEM concepts to life. Boost creativity, problem-solving, and spatial thinking through hands-on building challenges that make math, science, and technology exciting.

Mad Science

Kindergarten – Grade 4

Investigate, invent, and experiment through hands-on science adventures, with a brand-new topic in each edition—from spy missions and secret codes to engineering builds and fizzing chemistry labs. Strengthen observation, problem-solving, and teamwork while turning curiosity into exciting discovery.

Culinary Lab

Kindergarten – Grade 5

Stir, mix, and create delicious multicultural dishes while adding imaginative twists alongside Jr. culinary monsters Maya, Leo, Sophia, and Hendrix. Sessions group Kindergarten and Grade 1 children to discover the basics, while Grades 2 to 5 fine-tune skills as they build creativity, confidence, teamwork, and kitchen know-how through hands-on fun.

Sewing & Fashion Design

Kindergarten – Grade 5

Design, stitch, and create in a hands-on program that introduces students to fashion design and sewing while building creativity, independence, craftsmanship, and self-expression.

Beginner sessions introduce basic design, hand sewing, sewing machine parts, and creative projects like emoji pillows and pencil pouches; Sewing & Fashion Design Level 2 builds on those foundations with advanced techniques, fabric mixing, refined finishing, sketching, and wearable creations.

Soccer Shots

PreK – Grade 1

Kick, pass, and play in an engaging program from Soccer Shots, the national leader in youth soccer development for ages 2 – 9.

Sessions group PreK children for early skill-building through playful, age-appropriate training, while Kindergarten and Grade 1 students build confidence, coordination, teamwork, and game understanding through small-sided games in a safe, positive environment.

G-Force Mini's

PreK – Grade 5

Cheer, dance, and shine in a spirited program that builds coordination, rhythm, stamina, and confidence through high-energy routines and teamwork. Sessions for PreK–Grade 1 introduce cheers in a fun, supportive setting with a Friday night football showcase, while Grades 2–5 develop skills further and perform at a home basketball game and the end of the winter session.

Junior Sports Medicine

Grades 3 – 5

Step onto the sidelines and train alongside student athletic trainers and a Certified Athletic Trainer while learning taping, splinting, vitals, backboarding, and heat illness response. Grow teamwork, responsibility, and real-world medical awareness through hands-on practice.

Chess Masters

Grades 1 – 5

Master strategy through puzzles, friendly matches, and exciting games guided by Grandmaster Aryam Abreu, a renowned coach who has led Cuba’s National Team at two Chess Olympiads and a FIDE World Cup. Build concentration, planning, and confidence while learning from an expert mentor who has helped players reach the highest levels of the game.

Super Kids Martial Arts

Grades 1 – 5

Kick, move, and lead through an exciting 8-week program led by Champion Karate’s child development experts. Build confidence, focus, discipline, emotional regulation, and teamwork while enjoying high-energy training that strengthens body, character, and leadership.

National Art Honor Society

Students in National Art Honor Society take initiative in a creative, student-driven environment where artistic exploration and leadership go hand in hand. Through open studio opportunities, members create original work, support a vibrant arts community, and encourage expression across a wide range of mediums.

Learners strengthen creativity, independence, and collaboration while using art as a way to lead, inspire, and connect with others.

LMP Trivia Club

Join lively rounds of questions, laughs and friendly competition in a welcoming social setting. Boost memory, teamwork and quick thinking while exploring fun facts, building confidence and enjoying an upbeat break in the school day.

Sports Medicine

Explore the fast-paced world of athletic care by observing practices and home games while supporting event setup. Develop responsibility, teamwork and a deeper understanding of sports health, injury prevention and behind-the-scenes game-day preparation.

Gaming Club

Play, strategize and connect through favorites like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Uno, Wingspan, Blokus, Dungeons & Dragons and Starfinder. Strengthen critical thinking, collaboration and creativity while sharing interests and building friendships in a fun weekly meetup.

Book Club

Dive into thought-provoking reads and lively discussions that spark imagination, empathy and fresh perspectives. Grow critical thinking, communication and confidence while sharing ideas, discovering new authors and enjoying a welcoming community of readers.

DECA

Compete, lead and explore the world of business through marketing, finance, hospitality and management experiences. Strengthen leadership, presentation and problem-solving skills while pursuing scholarships, conferences, recognition and lasting friendships.

Environmental Club

Protect the planet through service, advocacy and hands-on projects that support a more sustainable school community. Develop leadership, commitment and global awareness while creating meaningful change through conservation efforts and monthly events.

HOSA

Explore future pathways in healthcare through competitions, service and leadership experiences designed for aspiring medical professionals. Build teamwork, confidence, and career readiness while gaining exposure to the field and opportunities for scholarships.

Key Club

Serve with purpose through community-focused projects that inspire caring, character, and leadership. Earn service hours, strengthen teamwork and build a strong resume while making friends, supporting others, and creating a positive impact beyond the classroom. 

LMP Creative Collective

Showcase artistic talent through visual art, photography, music, and literary expression in a vibrant creative space. Build confidence, collaboration, and communication skills while sharing original work, celebrating ideas, and inspiring others through the arts.

Spanish Club

Experience Hispanic language and culture through celebrations, songs, crafts, community service, and shared outings. Build cultural awareness, connection, and communication skills while honoring traditions, creating memories, and bringing the school community together.

NJHS

Middle School students in the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) serve their school and community through the arts while developing leadership, creativity, and responsibility. Members participate in artistic projects, contribute to service initiatives, and strengthen their commitment to scholarship, character, and creative expression.

Students gain experience in collaboration, service, and leadership while using their artistic talents to make a meaningful impact both on campus and beyond.

Speech & Debate

Students in Speech & Debate strengthen their voices through public speaking, research, and thoughtful engagement with global issues as part of a competitive program that has been part of Lake Mary Preparatory School since the 2008–09 school year. They practice consistently, collaborate with peers, and build confidence while preparing to observe and compete in events such as Student Congress, extemporaneous speaking, original oratory, dramatic performance, oral interpretation of literature, Public Forum Debate, and Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

Learners develop communication, critical thinking, leadership, and presentation skills while becoming articulate, informed, and engaged members of their community.

Thespian Honor Society

Students in Thespian Honor Society lead, create, and contribute across every aspect of theater, from performance to production. Members take part in plays, musicals, competitions, and technical theater opportunities, including stage management, publicity, costume design, lighting, sound, and backstage crew. 

Learners build leadership, collaboration, creativity, and accountability while helping bring performances to life both onstage and behind the scenes.

Student Government

Students in Student Government take an active role in the full electoral process, from campaigning and delivering speeches to building platforms and engaging with the issues that matter most to their peers and school community. Through this experience, Middle School students learn how leadership begins with listening, representing others, and speaking with purpose.

Those elected serve as leaders within the school, helping shape student life while strengthening confidence, communication, responsibility, and civic awareness. Learners grow as thoughtful representatives who lead with integrity and contribute to a positive, engaged campus culture.

Senior Class Lead Advisor

Senior Lead Advisors help shape a memorable final year by supporting class traditions, milestone events, and senior-specific activities throughout the school year. They also work with Yearbook to keep senior pages on schedule and collaborate with Senior SGA representatives to support elections and the organization of senior-specific events, building strong skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, and event planning.

SGA

Students in SGA take an active role in shaping school life by collaborating with the Upper School Principal, Marketing Specialist, advisors, and student leaders across divisions. They help coordinate school-wide and grade-level events, support planning and implementation, and provide volunteers for a wide range of campus activities.

Through this involvement, students strengthen leadership, organization, communication, and teamwork skills while making a meaningful impact on the school community.

Students come together through community events that celebrate creativity, service, wellness, and shared school spirit. These moments build connection across grade levels, encourage active participation, and create meaningful opportunities for learners to engage with the wider school community in fun and memorable ways.

Pep Rallies

Pep Rallies bring the school community together to celebrate scholar-athletes with music, games, and nonstop school spirit. These high-energy events create excitement, strengthen community pride, and showcase the supportive culture of Lake Mary Preparatory School.

Event Nights

Event nights give students the chance to connect, unwind, and make lasting memories through student-selected activities led by Student Government. From roller skating and bowling to dances and school lock-ins, these events strengthen friendships beyond the classroom.

Academic Competitions

Academic competitions challenge students to apply their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and represent the school with pride across a wide range of disciplines. These include participation in Robotics Competitions, and Speech and Debate Competitions.

Homecoming

Homecoming is a spirited week of games, contests, fundraisers, and pep rallies that brings Upper School students together in celebration of school pride. The excitement builds throughout the week and culminates in a memorable dance filled with energy, tradition, and community.

Prom

Prom is a signature junior-senior celebration that blends tradition with student creativity for a truly memorable evening. Planned by Student Government, this special event gives students the opportunity to come together, celebrate, and mark an important milestone in style.

Senior events make the final year of Upper School especially meaningful through moments of celebration, connection, and reflection. Senior-specific events throughout the school year include:

Community involvement

From stocking food pantries, planting flowers at local nursing homes, to raising money for our underserved communities, our students put their hearts into helping others each and every day. They're also able to gain new perspective and are exposed to the issues and problems that many face within our own community.

This exposure emboldens the heart builds a sense of empowerment, showing learners they can change the world for the better.
