We are currently seeking host families for both immediate and future placement of students!
Each year, international exchange students from over 20 countries come to the U.S. to attend Lake Mary Preparatory School and live with host families in our local community. We believe in the importance of diversity, inclusion, and personal growth within our school, and families who host international students have a cultural experience like no other!
International students at Lake Mary Preparatory School are artists, athletes, dreamers, and doers. They come to the USA for a truly “American” high school experience. In many other countries around the world, students associate schools strictly with an academic environment. They grow up watching television and movies that display American high school culture as filled with sports, clubs, social events, and school traditions. Students come from around the world to Lake Mary Preparatory School to have a life changing experience in a different culture and country.
By hosting an exchange student in your home, you will start seeing the world from a new perspective and create an unforgettable experience for your entire family. We work with local CSIET approved host family coordinators to match students with host families in the local area.
Why Host an International Exchange Student?
Hosting an exchange student means more than providing a bed and meals. As a Lake Mary Preparatory School host family, you’ll welcome a new member into your home, share your everyday lives, and grow as you get to know each other and share your cultural perspectives. You’ll be surprised at how much you learn about yourself, your family, and community. Have a life-changing experience in your own home – become a host family!
And, don’t worry – we’re always here to help, 24/7. For questions, concerns, or for host family placement information, please contact our Admissions Office at 407-805-0095 or via email at Admissions@lakemaryprep.com.
Being a host family has been an incredible experience for my family. We have learned new languages, games and customs that we otherwise wouldn't have. It's opened our eyes to the world!
